Lost dogs enter survival mode and perceive approaching strangers as threats. Please follow these expert recovery guidelines:
With rain in the area, Pabst is almost certainly hunkered down seeking dry, secure cover under parked trucks/cars, inside open outbuildings, or under porches and decks.
Please check your security and doorbell camera footage—especially clips from early morning (dawn) and dusk when lost pets typically move.
Running toward him or shouting will startle him into running into busy roads or deeper into hiding. Stay still and quiet.
If you see him, you can gently toss treats or smelly food in his direction to keep him in the immediate area, but do NOT attempt to grab or corner him.
